David Savage transcribed Sherwood Cemetery in 1975 and at that time, there were 19 stones.  On September 11, 2001, Cindy L. (Skiles) Frie and Marge (Hess) Yetzke of the Berrien County Genealogical Society visited the cemetery.  Only about 10 stones were visible from the road and there were 2 cement pillars at the gateway.  The area was mowed at the time but the stones were poorly kept.  Neighbors on North Red Bud Trail, Larry & Shirley Kelley and Doug Welde said there used to be a lot more stones and that they believed that some of those interred may have been moved to Oak Ridge Cemetery due to the construction of Red Bud Trail.   The oldest burial found in 2001 was that of Ezra Brewster who was born on September 26, 1796 in Norwich, Connecticut and died on September 24, 1864.  The most recent burial was that of William Ingleright who was born on March 17, 1833 and died on September 13, 1904.  He also was a Civil War veteran with 25th Michigan Regiment Company K.  Other surnames found in 2001 were Fuller, Conder, Bolton, Gazley, Hollett and Sherwood.
