Joseph Collier Jr. graduated from the University of Michigan Law School in 1902 and later went on to become one of the first municipal judges in Berrien County.  Judge Collier died “with his boots on”, on the way to a trial and is buried next to his wife in the Scottdale Cemetery next to their church.”
